Punakha Drubchen & Tshechu
Experience both the Punakha Drubchen re-enactment battle and the Punakha Tshechu — two extraordinary festivals in one valley.
Overview
About This Tour
The Punakha Drubchen and Tshechu are held consecutively in late February/March, making this a rare double-festival opportunity. The Drubchen is unique in Bhutan — it re-enacts the 17th-century battle victory over Tibetan invaders with hundreds of participants in full period costume and weapons. The Tshechu follows immediately after. Both are held at the spectacular riverside Punakha Dzong, one of Bhutan's most beautiful fortresses.
